13 years ago today.....

It is hard to believe that 13 years ago today, we were in the hospital anxiously awaiting the birth of our sweet baby girl. You were welcomed into this world with tears of joy at 10:31pm weighing a whopping 9lbs 7oz, 20 1/2 inches long. You were beautiful and just looked around taken in everything around you. It amazes me that you are now 100+ pounds and 5'8" and I am now looking up to you. You are a joy to be around, you have a sweet spirit and are a truly compassionate person. You are always putting other peoples feelings before your own. I am truly proud to be your mom. I love you so much.

AND THE WINNER IS.......

KRIS ALLEN!!!!

As one of my friends "Bethany" put it
"Humble yourself before the Lord and He will lift you up!"
James 4:10

Kris was so cute when he won last night.
"Who me?" "it should be Adam"

It was a great Show.....

Adam should be glad he is 2nd, it gives him a lot more options....

American Idol Final 2

Adam Lambert - “Mad World” - I thought is was a good performance, agreed with Simon on the coat.

Kris Allen - “Ain’t No Sunshine” - I loved this performance Kris is on Fire. I agree with Simon first round goes to Kris

Adam Lambert - “Change Is Gonna Come” - Adam impressed me with this song. Great song choice Simon Fuller

Kris Allen - “What’s Goin’ On” - I still loved Kris, He sang the song well.

Adam Lambert - “No Boundaries” - I hated this song Adam sounded awful.

Kris Allen - “No Boundaries” - Kris won this round hands-down. Still I am not a fan of this song and think it was terrible that Kara said we probably arranged it a little high for you. I think she was trying to sabbatoge Kris since we all know she Loves Adam. Of course this is my personal opinion.

Can't wait until tonight I hope Kris wins....

American Idol Top 5

So we are down to the Top 5, with only three weeks left, it has flown by.

Before I even get to the Contestants, who let Paula wear the lavender lipstick that she wears every single week with that red dress.

Kris Allen - “The Way You Look Tonight” - I loved Kris. He is adorable. He is mesmerizing when he sings. I think he will be safe.

Allison Iraheta - “Someone To Watch Over Me” - I really did not like her this week, I was wondering if I heard the same performance as everyone else. It was hard to understand her this week, she did not pronunciate her words, at least not on my TV. LOL

Matt Giraud - “My Funny Valentine” - I thought he was OK, nothing spectacular. He will more than likely be in the bottom 3.

Danny Gokey - “Come Rain or Come Shine” - Awesome... He looked great, sounded amazing, very proud of him.

Adam Lambert - “It’s A New Day” - Well he was not Mr. Buble by any means. But I think he did well. I will admit Adam is extremely dramatic and although his taste is not mine, he is one of the most talented singers in the competition this year.

So I think tonight the bottom 2 will more than likely be Matt and Allison.

My top three still remain as Kris, Danny and Adam. Can't wait until tonight...

Only for a Sister.......

On Friday 24th, I chose to take the day off from my desk job to spend the day with my sister Heather. I have to say when she told me that she was chosen to be co-chair of this years Annual Daddy Daughter Dance at her girl's school, we were so excited. I know Heather is a great planner, so I knew it would be so much fun.
This years theme was "The STARS come out". I have loved hearing about all the plans for what seems like many moons, now. LOL The day she mentioned building our on balloon archs, I knew I had to be there.

So on Friday I arrived at the school 9:30ish in the morning, with breakfast in hand. (Aren't I a great big sister). We (Heather and I) and an occasional helper here and there transformed the gym into a STARRY night in Charlotte, in about 6 hours. I never knew how much fun building a star balloon arch for all the little girls and their daddies to walk through, or the 6, 9 ft (at least) tall balloon arches that created the dance floor could be. It was a lot of hard work but so much fun. So enough talking here are pictures of our fun day and the three little princesses I did it for.

Aren't they precious....

Thoughtful Thursdays

Please lift up this sweet Charlotte family in prayer.
Their baby Kayleigh was born in June weighing in at 1lb 1oz.
She is now 10 months old and is a little fighter but she is still in need our prayers now.
Please click on the link above for her story.

"It won't be like this for long"

I just finished wathing this video on Kelly's blog and had to add it to mine. I have always loved Darius Rucker. This song is so true, as I look at my 12 year old daughter and how much she has changed. Through good times and hard times we need to remember "It won't be like this for long". I hope you enjoy...

American Idol Final 7 Bottom 3

Last night with no saves left Lil Rounds was the first one to go.

My daughter was very sad is Lil was her favorite.

Anoop Desai also saw his fate last night.

Also in the bottom 3 was Allison Iraheta.

We will have to wait until next week to see how she does with the Standards.

I thought that David Archuleta's performance of "Touch My Hand" was really cheesy. He has never been my favorite, and last night he did not impress me in the least.

American Idol - Top 7 "AGAIN"

Lil Rounds - “I’m Every Woman” - It was OK, not her strongest, though I think she can sing I do not think she has the originality.

Kris Allen - “She Works Hard For The Money” - "Brilliant" enough said...

Danny Gokey - “September” - I thought he did well. I agree with Simon he needs to work the stage more. He will be safe.

Allison Iraheta - “Hot Stuff” - I did not like it. She is 16 and I would like to see her act it. She is probably safe but not in my top 3 so I would not be heart broken if she was in the bottom 2.

Adam Lambert - “If I Can’t Have You” - I loved seeing I dare say the softer side of Adam. He was great. He will be safe.

Matt Giraud - “Stayin’ Alive” - I did not like the performance and I felt last week that they wasted the save, tonight I still feel that way. He should have gone home last week.

Anoop Desai - “Dim All The Lights” - Started out good, but went down hill. He may be in the bottom 3.

It is a toss up for me in the bottom 3, I think Matt and Lil will more than likely go home.

My top 3 are Kris, Adam and Danny.
The men are on fire this week and all 3 are different.
Can't wait to see what happens tonight.

American Idol

My daughter and I watch American Idol every week.
Here are my thoughts:

Alison Iraheta - “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” - I think she sounded like she was screaming. I didn’t love it.

Anoop Desai - “Everything I Do I Do For You” - I have never really liked Anoop and I have to say he was really good last night.

Adam Lambert - “Born To Be Wild” - It was very rock. I still like Adam and think he will be in the top 3. I was not crazy about the performance but it was Adam all the way.

Matt Giraud - “Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman” - He is in trouble. I will be surprised if he is still in the competition after this performance. It started off OK, but in the middle he lost control and never really got it back. I think he is going home tonight.

Danny Gokey - “Endless Love” - I love Danny I thought he was very heartfelt last night.

Kris Allen - “Falling Slowly” - LOVED IT.

Lil Rounds - “The Rose” - This song takes me back to my childhood days in TX. I love this song. I thought she did well, though it was not her best performance.

All in all I enjoyed this week. I think that Matt is the one going home.

Caleb Greyson

On 2-4-09 my daughter Chandler became an aunt to a beautiful baby boy Caleb Grayson he was 6lb 9oz, 20 inches long. Chandler is sooo excited. When the nurse asked who we were Jennifer said "Caleb's aunt and half Grandma" so I guess I am now a 35 year old Grandma it is exciting.
I will say Chandler is going to spoil him rotten, and I will too.

Team Brayden

We have another precious baby to pray for. Please pray for baby Brayden and his parents Jenna and Chris please visit Jenna's blog for updates on Brayden's condition.

Southern Snow

UPDATE: All the snow was gone after lunch... LOL Only in Charlotte....

Only in the south can it snow a couple of inches, the roads are 100% clear and our schools close. On a positive note, I made it to work in record time. It is pretty and don't get me wrong, I love SNOW, but if I was a teacher who just lost a teacher workday due to snow or the lack there of it would be slightly aggravating. Personally I would love for it to snow like a foot or 2 or 3, LOL just once in my life here in Charlotte, NC. I know the whole city would shut down but I think it would be great. The kids can make snowman and angels galore.....

Prayer Request for Harper

Please pray for my blog friend Kelly, Scott and their brand new baby daughter Harper. If you do not already follow Kelly's blog please visit for specific prayer requests. Baby Harper was born yesterday and she had to be flown to Tulsa NICU where they thought they may have to do a bypass to help her breathe. She is stable and God is answering our prayers. Harper is not out of the woods yet so we all need to continue to pray for this special family.

My week......

I just wanted to give an update on my life.... I hope (keep your fingers crossed) that my computer is back up and running this weekend. I mistakenly clicked on the wrong thing while chatting with my darling sisters, who of course say it serves me right for not giving them (on 3 way none the less) my undivided attention. So for the last 3 weeks (give or take)I have only been able to get on at work. Which is a task in itself.
This week has been a roller coaster, started out great and went drastically down hill. On the weight loss front, I have worked out 4 times this week. (Yeah me) I forgot to weigh before I left work but I will on Tuesday and will update everyone then. Those who don't know I work for LPL/UVEST, we are a third party broker dealer. So I work with stock brokers all day. It is no secret that right now the market stinks, so it is a barrel of fun. Anyway we are playing a game at work where we all started out this month with a portfolio of $500,000 (Pretend money of course) and whoever has the most money on March 31st will win a day off. Sounds like fun right... well it is, but I have made some risky choices, for example I decided to buy alot (like almost 20,000 shares) of Circuit City stock last week since it was at .47 and still going up. Well today I have lost on that particular position around $90,000 since they announced they are out of business so it closed at .03, all I can say is thank goodness it is not real money. One of the guys at work (Mike) said that based on my recent decisions that I should do the opposite of what I think I should.
But the worst was yesterday when some of my dear friends at work were laid off. It was so sad. I wanted to cry all day. I would have taken a pay cut if it meant my friends could have kept their jobs. I pray that everyone across the country who is unemployed find employment, I also pray that they know that if they trust God he will supply all your needs.

3 Years Ago Today.....

For those of you who do not already know 3 years ago today after many shots (THANKS Heather), I went through IVF to help two very special people have a family. On this day 3 years ago Dr. Wing (Who is awesome) implanted 2 embryos and the Journey of Surrogacy began. This is a journey I had thought of for many years even before the birth of my daughter 12 years ago. I had always said I would be a surrogate for my (3) sisters, but 3 years ago I embarked this journey with then a stranger now a sister and friend. Kim is a great lady and I do love her like a sister, but at 35ish she found out during a pap smear that she had uterine cancer and ended up have to have a radical hysterectomy. She has now been cancer free for close to 8 years and is now the mommy to 2 beautiful 2 year old little boys. I will try to share more of my experience in later posts but I realized today I shared the miracle of life with someone who could not conceive on her own.

Flabapalloza has begun

At work we are having our own weight loss challenge which has been titled "Flabapalloza". It started officially on 1/02/09 will run for 2 months. At the end of January the person with the highest percentage of weight loss will win $50.00 (basically their money back) and the person at the end of February with the highest percentage of weight loss will when the the whole pot which is currently $650. So we all weighed in the exercise room downstairs. It is so funny the difference between men and women. The breakdown is 12 men to 2 women, the men at the weigh-in were so proud of their starting weight (which we were told before hand that no one had to know your starting weight unless you personally chose to tell them, that is no one except the one "guy" in charge of the contest). There were actually a lot more women signed up but they chickened out. Anyway, on the day of the weigh in I was actually shocked when I stepped on the scale here (either my scale at home is way off, or the Holiday's were not friendly to me. All I can say is the game is on and the boys better watch out. LOL, So I will keep everyone updated weekly on my progress. Of course the boys better Watch out, because my good friend Magda and I are going to be permanent fixtures at the gym and we are not stopping until the reach our personal goals.

I have always wanted a family picture like this, and now that I have created it, I am LOL because my 12 year old daughter is really taller than me. But on here it is so funny.

Christmas at the Shack

A couple of weeks ago our pastor announced that the title of the series he would be preaching on over the next couple of weeks was "Christmas at the Shack". At the time I had not heard of the book titled "The Shack" so I had no idea what this series was going to be about. He had told us that if we had not already read the book that we could purchase a copy out front for $10 and amazingly enough (because I never carry cash) I had exactly $10 so of course I bought one. I was not sure what to expect from this book but all I can say is WOW! If you have not read it I highly recommend it. It is very enlighten and has strengthened and even renewed my faith in God. I hope it touches you as much as it has blessed me.
If you would also like to follow along with the series I have attached the link to the Forest Hill website. (Click below)

Current Series :: Christmas at the Shack

I would love to hear your thoughts.

It is a great book.....
