Christmas at the Shack

A couple of weeks ago our pastor announced that the title of the series he would be preaching on over the next couple of weeks was "Christmas at the Shack". At the time I had not heard of the book titled "The Shack" so I had no idea what this series was going to be about. He had told us that if we had not already read the book that we could purchase a copy out front for $10 and amazingly enough (because I never carry cash) I had exactly $10 so of course I bought one. I was not sure what to expect from this book but all I can say is WOW! If you have not read it I highly recommend it. It is very enlighten and has strengthened and even renewed my faith in God. I hope it touches you as much as it has blessed me.
If you would also like to follow along with the series I have attached the link to the Forest Hill website. (Click below)

Current Series :: Christmas at the Shack

I would love to hear your thoughts.

It is a great book.....

Send a message to our Troops!!!

Here is a great way to say thanks to our wonderful troops...

It is sponsored by XEROX

If you go to this web site, http://www.letssaythanks.com/ you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq . You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to a member of the armed services.

How AMAZING would it be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!! It is FREE and it only takes a second.Wouldn't it be wonderful if the soldiers received a bunch of these? Whether you are for or against the war, our soldiers over there need to know we are behind them. This takes just 10 seconds and it's a wonderful way to say thank you.

We can never say thank you enough.
Thanks for taking to time to support our military!

Faithful Fridays

I am not sure about the rest of you but I seem to get overwhelmed and a little blue this time of the year and this year on top of the normal cold weather and shorter days that tend to make us all a little depressed. We are now officially in a recession and though gas prices are continuing to drop, the stock market (which I happen to work in) thinks it is on a teeter totter and is not sure if it wants to go up or come down, this economy is affecting everyone.

Today while trying to catch up on my blog reading, I saw this video on Angie’s blog and it has really touched me and reminded me that through the chaos we call life, we need to remember we are not alone and that God is doing something inside of each of us that is bigger than we are. I realized or should say I was reminded that I needed to turn my eyes to Jesus and just surrender to him. So starting today I am going to take the words of this song {that I have literally listened to close to 50 times today} and I am going to turn the chaos into a masterpiece that I may not be able to see finished for quite sometime but one day I know I will step back and be able to take it all in. Right now I am going to just breathe and lean on God. I know he will supply all my needs.
Thanks Angie for posting this video I really needed it.

My daughter Chandler and my niece Isabella, after their orchestra concert
last year. When we came out I told them I wanted to take a picture of
them together. They had so much fun....
